Inspection facilities
for steelwork cooling stacks

For about 30 years we have been constructing the proven inspection facilities for cooling stacks in steelworks. In the course of time these facilities have been constantly adjusted to the increasing demands as well as improved in accordance with the customers’ needs.

The facilities are constructed according to the European Community machine-guidelines 98/37/EG, BGR 159 “Hoistable means for passenger transport”,DIN EN 1808 “Safety requirements to hanging means for passenger transport”,and the “Regulation for industrial safety”. There is an European Community type approval as well.

The inspection facilities consist of a mobile steel platform - being like a crane – with the rope hoist for the working cage, a hoisting gear for stack caps as well as of the essential units for safe operation of the equipment.

The working cage, with which the cooling stack can be safely inspected, both in the vertical and in the angular flues, is hanging at two separate steel ropes. Special equipment enables cleaning and repair of all interior stack walls.

These inspection facilities are used with great success in steelworks all over the world.

Electromagnets

On the left: The Elektromagnet lifting unit is to be used for lifting and transporting parts of iron and steel in connection with a suitable hoisting unit. Load attachment and load releasing times are reduced to a minimum.
On the left below: Roll-off safety devices for round parts like shafts and rolls are available.

On the right: The double-electromagnets fasten the working platform at the boiler wall. So unintentional swinging can be avoided.
Application at steel boiler walls or other steel wall constructions.

Electric control

One example for our electric control is this switch cabinet of a combustion chamber inspection device with remote control, electric horn and telephone installation as well as isolation transformers, control transformers, contactor control and signal lambs, in rolling design.

Our Service

The prescribed inspection and maintenance work at your inspection devices are carried out by our experts. We offer trainings for your staff for operation of facilities and behaviour in case of emergency. During inspection time of the boiler plants we place our staff at your disposal for operation of inspection devices and for assembly and disassembly.
